503B outsourcing facility

A facility that can compound in larger batches ahead of a specific prescription, under current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) standards. In exchange, 503B facilities register with the FDA and are subject to routine risk-based FDA inspections — the kind that produce Form 483s and warning letters.
