Compounding pharmacy
A pharmacy that prepares customized medications rather than dispensing pre-manufactured products. Compounding of a drug that duplicates an FDA-approved product is only permitted under federal law while that drug is on the FDA's drug shortage list, or in limited patient-specific cases.
